1/4/2023 0 Comments Titleist dci 762these irons are weighted very nicely so all of them pretty much set themselves up when you place the head behind the ball. at setup they have a mid-size blade look with the distinct titleist shape to them. i don't use the 3 iron, 4 iron, or the pw (i use a vokey 48* wedge) so this review will be based on the use of only the 5-9 irons. i was lucky to find a used set on ebay with sensicore shafts and got them for $190. since the most recent titleist irons are all forged, the 762's seemed to be my best bet. what turned me to titleist irons was an investment in a full set of vokey wedges. i do most of my club investing through ebay because of the good deals available (even tho you still have to shop around and be patient for it to come along). i have been playing forged blades (ta-1's) for the past 4 years, but i decided to invest in a mid-size cavity back stainless steel iron set with blade-like aesthetics for more forgiveness. first i'll write my findings on them then i'll give my honest opinion. i'm going to write this review based solely on what i have determined about these irons from my playing ability (4 handicap). My driver swing speed is in the 115 mph range.Īlthough i have written some before, i'm somewhat skepticle about reviews of golf equipment simply because what works for me might not work for someone else. It's seems like people with higher swing speeds benefit the most. Some of my playing partners have wanted to hit them as they saw the difference in my game. I was a 5 handicap last year during the heart of the season, but would be a 3 or better if 2007 works like late 2006. I hit 15/18 greens in regulation the second round I played with them. After adjusting I started hitting it to 15 feet or less all day even up to 190 yards. Immediately I began hitting gearing down a club after knocking a couple of shots right over flags and the greens as well. I always used to hit a hard 8 iron 150 yds. I added 10-12 yards per iron with increased accuracy from lower ball flight. I shot two 72's and two 74's right after the purchase. I picked up these Titleist 762's last fall for less than $150 when a golf store went out of business. I had been using Lynx Parallax and Callaway irons for the past 15 years.
